2. Does the TCP Optimizer really work ?

Yes, the Optimizer does work and very well in 99% of all systems (which might be a better average than MS Windows itself ;) ). It optimizes some networking related buffers for Internet connectivity, and allows for some educated custom tweaking of your Internet connection. It's easy to backup/restore all modified settings as well.

Older Windows OSes will see immediate and very noticeable improvement in speed. Even though recent Windows versions are better tuned to deal with broadband internet speeds out of the box, and the benefits of using the software may not be immediately noticeable, the Optimizer still works and tweaks all related settings to improve broadband, as discussed in our tweaking articles.

SG TCP Optimizer under General Settings/TCP 1323 options keeps unchecking window scaling by itself every few minutes windows 7 64b Numerous resetting running with admin level no help....speed drops as soon as it disables window scaling. TIA!

I just upgraded to Comcast's "Blast" Internet which is 50/10 up and down.
I have a bunch of desktop computers on a wired network (most running XP and Win7) and after running the Xfinity Speed Test on each, all but one computer showed around 57/11 up and down.

The problem computer had XP on one partition and Win7 on another partition. The Win 7 partition also showed 57/11. But the XP partition only showed around 23/8. I was tearing my hair out trying to figure out the problem. I stumbled upon TCP/IP Optimizer and ran it on XP partition and applied the optimal setting. Upon reboot, voila, XP now showed 57/11!! Thanks sooooo much for your optimizer! It really works! Very impressed! Thanks again!

I wonder if it will make a significant enough difference on my Windows 8.1.

Breaks my Firefox if set to optimal, nice tool for custom settings however.

I'm usually skeptical about such apps, but this thing worked like a charm! I get much lower pings in games now. Huge help, I'm impressed.
