T-Mobile today launched its first dedicated hotspot for its 5G network, and although it isn't targeted at home internet access, it has a 100GB service plan that looks better than any other carrier's plan for people who want to stay connected at home. The hotspot in question is the Inseego 5G MiFi M2000. It features fast 5G speeds plus 4G CAT 22 LTE fallback. Its simultaneous dual-band Wi-Fi 6 means up to 40% faster Wi-Fi speeds than Wi-Fi 5 and up to four times increased data throughput per user when multiple devices are connected. The device features the latest in security to help keep transmitted information safe when connecting up to 30 Wi-Fi enabled devices at once, along with enterprise-grade WPA3 Wi-Fi security and a VPN pass-through providing a seamless, secure data channel. The M2000 has more than 24 hours of battery life and is capable of connecting up to 30 devices at once, according to the company. Inside the M2000 is a Snapdragon X55 5G modem with support for low-band and mid-band 5G, specifically the n2, n41, n66, and n71 bands. mmWave support is not included. When it comes to 4G, the supported LTE bands are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, 17, 25, 26, 28, 29, 30, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 46, 48, 49, 66, and 71.From 13 December users will be able to get the hotspot with plans ranging from 500MB of data for $5 per month to 100GB of data for $50, which includes a discount for subscribers using an automated payment feature. The Inseego 5G MiFi M2000 costs $336 to purchase outright. For now, the carrier is offering to knock that down to $168 if you add a new line and spread the payment across 24 months. Read more -here-
