Rumor: iPhone 14 to start at $799, same as iPhone 13

The iPhone 14 will likely be announced next month. While analysts and leakers have been reporting about this upcoming phone throughout this year, as we get closer to its release date, the more we have been hearing about it.

Rumored pricing for the iPhone 14 suggests that it won't be any more expensive than previous iPhones. This is welcome news at a time when the price of everything else seems to be increasing due to inflation.

The information comes from a source with a mixed track record, yeux1122 on the blog Naver. This source accurately leaked the M1 processor for Apple's iPad Air in March but has also missed on some reports. More promisingly this time around, this week's leak actually seems to be a conveyed report from a "major U.S. financial institution" that the report says has an accuracy rating of over 90%.

The iPhone 14 reportedly has a glass back design with aluminum frames, just like last year's iPhones. This one will likely feature the same 6.1-inch OLED display, but might have support for higher refresh rate. The screen could refresh at 90Hz, instead of 60Hz display seen on iPhone 13. The iPhone 14 will have flat sides, similar to most iPhones out there. We do expect the new model to have a higher peak brightness for better outdoor viewing experience. The rest of the details are yet to be revealed.

There is no doubt that the iPhone 14 series will ship with the latest iOS 16 operating system. But, old iPhone users don't have to worry as Apple usually releases the latest OS for most of the iPhones. While there is no information of the battery unit, we do expect the new models to offer slightly better battery life than the new ones.
