Apple has announced the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus, preserving much of the iPhone 13's design - including the previous-gen A15 Bionic chipset. There's no Mini option this year, so your options are big or bigger. The US models of the iPhone 14 also do away with the physical SIM tray, going all in on eSIM. The standard iPhone 14 model starts at $799, and the 14 Plus starts at $899. Preorders will start September 9th; the standard 14 ships on September 16th, and the 14 Plus arrives later on October 7th.

The company has also announced the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. In the first big display redesign since Apple introduced the iPhone X in 2017, both handsets have a new pill-shaped cutout that replaces the notch and can adjust dynamically. Both devices also have a faster A16 Bionic chip and an always-on display.

iPhone 14 Pro introduces a new class of pro camera system, with the first-ever 48MP Main camera on iPhone featuring a quad-pixel sensor, and Photonic Engine, an enhanced image pipeline that dramatically improves low-light photos. These groundbreaking advancements make iPhone even more indispensable for everyday tasks, creative projects, and now even emergency situations with features such as Emergency SOS via satellite and Crash Detection. iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will be available in four new finishes: deep purple, silver, gold, and space black. Pre-orders begin Friday, September 9, with availability beginning Friday, September 16.

New Apple Watches have been presented as well: Apple Watch Ultra ($799), Apple Watch SE ($249) and Apple Watch Series 8 ($399).

Apple Watch Ultra is designed for outdoor enthusiasts. Think: deep sea scuba divers and triathletes. It features a brighter display, is more water resistant, comes with an advanced compass and gets 60 hours of use time. The Series 8 starts at $399 for GPS model and $499 for cellular - narrows in on women's health, with revamped period cycle tracking tools that can predict ovulation. It can also detect when a user has been in a car crash. The Apple Watch SE, which starts at $249 for GPS models and $299 for cellular, also features crash detection technology, and is faster than the previous model.
