Yesterday, Apple pulled off from its site an update to its latest iPhone, iPad and iPod software, hours after making it available. The new iOS 8.0.1 has disrupted iPhone 6's ability to make calls. Some users also complained it had caused problems for the handsets' Touch ID fingerprint facility. The update doesn't appear to be negatively affecting iPads, which aren't equipped with Touch ID, though iPad owners may want to steer clear of the update for now, just in case. Meanwhile Apple has appologised and said it was working on a new version of its OS. "We apologise for the great inconvenience experienced by users, and are working around the clock to prepare iOS 8.0.2 with a fix for the issue, and will release it as soon as it is ready in the next few days." The update iOS 8.0.1 was supposed to fix multiple problems with the new software, launched last week, including one with Apple's HealthKit feature. Once 8.0.1 is uninstalled, the Health app again won't work, but it will be fixed in the iOS 8.0.2 update, according to Apple. The company has also published a support document that lists the steps affected users can take to revert their devices to the previous version of the operating system. Read more -here-
