At an event in San Francisco, Apple has finally announced its long anticipated iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. The phones feature enhanced 12-megapixel rear-facing cameras, up from 8 megapixels on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Their front-facing cameras have also been enhanced from 1.2 megapixels to 5 megapixels.

The new phones also support a new gesture control feature called 3D Touch. It may be used for openning a message on the phone for example. The renewed models will be available Sept. 25, with pre-orders starting Sept. 12. iPhone 6s starting price is $199 and iPhone 6s Plus - $299.

Along with these devices Apple showed off its largest-ever iPad - the iPad Pro. It is 6.9mm thick and weighs 1.57 lbs—slightly heavier than the 1.54 lb first-generation iPad. It's battery will last for 10-hours. It measures 12"×8.68"×0.27" compared to the iPad Air 2's dimensions of 9.4"×6.6"×0.24". The Pro weighs in at 1.57lb compared to the 0.98lb of the Air 2.

The iPad Pro will also offer accessories designed specifically for it. One of them is a $169 Smart Keyboard which will magnetically connect to the tablet via a new Smart Connector port that transfers both power and data. The iPad Pro is also joined by a new $99 Apple Pencil, which is capable of reading angles, pressure and more.

The price of a model with 32 GB of storage will be $799. A 128GB version will cost $949, and a 128GB version with LTE capability will cost $1,079. Consumers can expect the device in November.

Apple also announced a new mini iPad: the iPad Mini 4. This is the first substantial update to Apple's smaller iPad in almost two years.

"We've taken the power and performance of iPad Air 2 and built it into an even smaller Mini enclosure — it's just 0.65lbs," said Apple marketing chief Phil Schiller.

As expected, Apple also revamped its Apple TV set-top box with a new interface and remote. Now the device will run a new operating system, called tvOS and will support game apps. It is expected to be available in October with the following prices: $149 for a device with 32GB of flash storage and $199 for a 64GB version.

"Our vision for TV is simple and perhaps a little provocative. We believe the future of television is apps," said Cook.
