Amazon warehouse workers in several countries in Europe are protesting over what they claim are inhuman working conditions which treat people like robots. It's the latest in a series of worker actions this year.

A coalition of unions across Europe coordinated the action, and the British trade union GMB published a video of workers telling Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos "we are not robots" in five different languages. Workers are demanding better working conditions and wages and protesting Amazon's refusal to negotiate with them.

Unions in Britain said they would stage protests at five sites to complain about safety conditions. Amazon said the safety record at its warehouses is above the industry average.

At a fulfillment center near Madrid, 90 percent of the 1,800 workers are holding a two-day strike to disrupt one of the company's biggest sales periods. As a result, Amazon diverted orders to its 22 other depots in the country.

German trade union Verdi called for its workers at Amazon warehouses in Bad Hersfeld and Rheinberg to strike at the beginning of the night shift on Thursday and continue the work stoppage until the end of Friday.

Friday is a major sale day for retailers, particularly Amazon, with shoppers looking for deals on the American-inspired shopping day known as Black Friday.
